Lean More About How To Help
Volunteers are the cornerstone of all hospice programs! The modern day hospice movement was actually started by volunteers, people who had enough compassion to care for the dying person. Hospice volunteers are one of a kind, but we understand that not everyone is a perfect fit. Volunteers have to be grounded in their own belief system and have a servant’s heart.
You can still volunteer for hospice, even if caring for a patient is not something you are personally able to handle. Office volunteers help with filing, copies, and mailings. They may also help with community events. Patient Care volunteers offer companionship to patients and their families. These volunteers can offer a wide array of support services such reading to patient, journaling for a patient, scrapbooking for a patient, listening to music, walking outside, or running errands for the patient. Patient care volunteers can also offer their professional services. This means if you are a massage therapist, you can volunteer to offer massages to our patients. Volunteers can perform any task or service they are professionally licensed to do.
A Way to Give Back
"Volunteering has allowed me to give back to a community who helped my family in times of need. It has benefited me by bringing happiness and relief to a family in need of a positive influence in their lives"
